Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and client-focused BI Report Specialist with expertise in Payroll and HR reporting to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver custom business intelligence reports for our clients using our payroll and HR software platform. You will act as a subject matter expert in workforce data, working directly with clients to understand their reporting needs and ensure timely, accurate, and value-driven report delivery.
This is a customer-facing role with defined monthly billable hour targets and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Delivery
Serve as the primary reporting consultant for assigned clients, managing reporting projects from requirement gathering to delivery.
Collaborate with clients to understand HR/payroll reporting objectives, compliance needs, and operational KPIs.
Provide hands-on support and training to customers for report usage and dashboard navigation.
Ensure high client satisfaction through timely, accurate, and insightful deliverables.
Report Development
Design, develop, and optimize custom reports and dashboards using the company’s proprietary BI tools or integrated platforms (Power BI, Dev Express and Qlikview).
Transform complex data into meaningful visualizations and actionable insights.
Ensure data integrity, compliance, and confidentiality throughout the reporting process.
Operational & Financial Performance
Maintain a target level of billable hours per month aligned with individual and team KPIs.
Accurately log all client work and deliverables in time-tracking systems.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with Product, Support, and Implementation teams to resolve client data/reporting issues.
Provide feedback to product and development teams to improve reporting tools and data models.
Contribute to internal knowledge bases and reusable reporting templates.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, HRIS, Accounting, or related field.
3+ years of experience in BI/reporting, preferably in a payroll, HR, or HCM software environment.
Strong understanding of payroll cycles, HR processes, compliance reporting, and workforce KPIs.
Proficiency in Power BI, Dev Express, Qlikview and M Query.
Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated success in customer-facing roles.
Experience working in a billable role or consulting environment is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with labour law reporting requirements
Experience with APIs or data exports from HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday).
