Stefanutti Stocks Western Cape is seeking an experienced, motivated, and technically skilled Foreman to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will take on a key supervisory role, overseeing specific trade-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring quality delivery within timelines and budget, and coordinating activities with subcontractors, site workers, and suppliers.
This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in building and civil concrete works, an in-depth understanding of construction methodologies, and a proven track record of managing site activities efficiently and safely.
Please note that while the home base for this position is Cape Town, candidates must be willing and able to work outside of the Western Cape when required for project needs.
??Key Responsibilities (Key Performance Areas)
- Programme Implementation: Execute and monitor work in alignment with the project programme, ensuring progress targets and deadlines are met.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, daily diaries, material usage logs, and reports required for effective site management.
- Setting Out & Surveying: Perform and supervise accurate setting out and levelling tasks using instruments to ensure work is completed to specification.
- Plant & Equipment Oversight: Coordinate the use and maintenance of site plant and machinery, ensuring availability and functionality to support site operations.
- SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality): Enforce compliance with all SHEQ policies and legislation; champion safe working practices and environmental awareness on site.
- Housekeeping: Ensure the work environment is clean, organized, and hazard-free, promoting safety and efficiency.
- Staff & Subcontractor Supervision: Manage daily activities of site personnel and subcontractors; ensure productivity, discipline, and quality workmanship.

?? Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification (essential)
- National Diploma or Certificate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent (advantageous)
- Minimum of 8 (5 years for junior role) years of hands-on experience in medium to large-scale construction, particularly in building and concrete civil works
- Proven ability to coordinate teams and manage site activities under pressure
- Valid driver's license (advantageous)

- Thorough understanding of construction processes, trades, and sequencing
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in setting out, levelling, and surveying using relevant instruments
- Good computer literacy, including MS Office and project tracking tools
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Solid understanding of materials, plant, and equipment management
- Familiarity with site administration, including documentation, logs, and permits
- Basic knowledge of Industrial Relations and staff supervision
- Awareness of legal safety requirements and relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
