We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Administrator to support the day-to-day IT operations of the business. The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support, ensure the stability of IT systems, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of infrastructure, security, and processes. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Key Requirements & Role Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting of hardware, software, and system issues.
- Analyse problems, research, identify, test, and implement solutions.
- Manage system resolution and ensure optimal use of available resources.
- Communicate technical solutions and implementation steps in a clear and professional manner.
- Document hardware and software problems and their resolutions.
- Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of hardware and software.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure accuracy.
- Document system installations and current configurations for reference.
- Carry out system operations, monitoring, diagnostics, and maintenance.
- Monitor and analyse system performance, making adjustments where necessary.
- Optimize performance through software and hardware configuration.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
- Evaluate and improve maintenance processes and outcomes.
- Communicate and document all maintenance procedures.
- Perform security administration and implement security procedures.
- Conduct security audits, analyse results, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of IT infrastructure processes and procedures.
Essential Requirements

Desired Experience & Certifications
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Relevant accredited IT certification or degree.
- CompTIA A+ and CompTIA N+ certifications (preferred).
- Experience in a helpdesk or IT support environment.
- Experience with telephony systems.
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 support.
