Purpose of Role: To ensure ladles are prepared for casting operations, as well as performing casting operations in the foundry.

Key Responsibilities: (What are the top 4 focus areas of the job, Safety First is required)
- Ladle Preparation: Clean ladles of metal and slag from previous uses, patch ladle linings, replace stopper nozzles and prepare stoppers. Maintain stock of required materials.
- Preheating and Alloy Preparation: Preheat the ladles and stoppers according to the required schedule. Set the ladle stopper, perform pour-overs as needed for the alloy, and prepare any ladle additions.
- Casting: Transfer and position the ladle for each mould being poured and/or operate the ladle.
- Housekeeping/Materials Management: Maintain the ladle bay housekeeping and ensure 6S is applied to the area on every shift.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
- Six to twelve months experience or training in ladle preparation and operations related to Tea Pot and Bottom Pour Ladles. (Experience in Kaltek Ladle Lining will be advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
