ABOUT US:
Since 2008, African Leadership Academy (ALA) has sought to identify, develop and connect the most promising young leaders on the African continent. Our learning community serves 260 young leaders aged 16-19. Students spend two years at the academy engaging with the knowledge, skills, habits and mindsets that will accelerate their trajectories of ethical and effective leadership. ALA is a learning community committed to leadership development through academic rigor and intentional community. ALA also seeks to become a learning organisation, invested in deliberate continuous improvement.
In 2019, ALA partnered with the Washington, DC-based School for Ethics and Global Leadership (SEGL) to provide the SEGL at ALA programme. The School for Ethics and Global Leadership (SEGL) is a semester-long residential programme for high school juniors and seniors (11th and 12th graders) from across the United States and around the world. The programme selects students who have shown outstanding character, promise for leadership and scholastic ability and provides them with a unique curriculum that emphasises ethical thinking, leadership development and international affairs.
