Our dynamic strategic communications firm is looking for a new account manager to work on a range of accounts for a 12-month period.
You will be part of a high-performance team whose mission is to elevate our clients’ communications capabilities through bold, proactive, imaginative engagement strategies and powerful, consistent storytelling, all in the name of driving reputation and revenue.
As part of our team, you will be expected to be an independent thinker with good critical analysis skills and exceptional project management capability.
Responsibilities
Media relations
Secures unique placements using media outreach (phone and email pitching)
Provides social media/competitive intel report and creative ideas/pitch concepts
Monitors trend/industry news for client coverage and clips placements for team review
Researches and builds influencer and media lists
Account management
Liaise with clients and act as a link between client and account team
Participate in brainstorming meetings and workshops
Assists with research projects
Track media coverage and update activity reports
Project management
Actively problem-solve against account and team requirement
Promptly respond to client issues
Writing/editing
Drafts press material, creative pitches, strategy docs, and other client communication
Required
2 – 4 years of working experience with an agency or corporate PR team
Excellent understanding of both the online and offline news/media/information environment
A network of media and influencer contacts
An entrepreneurial mindset and independent thinker
Post-matric diploma or degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work well under pressure and commit to deadlines
Strategic thinker and project manager
Have excellent people skills and intuitive to customer’s business needs.
Be well-groomed and presentable
The ability to work independently and within a team
