Babylonstoren is seeking a dynamic and well-organised Production Buyer to strengthen our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing purchasing and product availability for various production departments.
Requirements:
- A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12)
- A qualification in supply chain management would be advantageous
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English
- Valid Code 8 driving licence
- Well-organised and self-motivated individual
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
Suitably qualified applicants from designated groups will be given priority.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the supply of fresh ingredients, packaging and other materials
- Ensure timely and adequate availability of all materials for uninterrupted production
- Liaise with production and inventory teams for accurate needs assessment
- Develop and implement forecasting and planning models
- Optimise the purchasing schedule in line with production demands and stock levels
- Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, quality standards and delivery timelines
- Track orders and ensure deliveries are accurate and on time
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to support a smooth and coordinated workflow
