Our company is looking for a vibrant and dynamic candidate with a strong background in CMT and/or bag production.
The ideal candidate has:
- A proven track record in managing large teams and improving production output. Strong leadership ability including time/work measurement, performance management, discipline, etc.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in the management of stakeholder relationships, including staff, unions, bargaining councils and the public.
- Proficiency in relevant production principles, systems and tools with solid knowledge of manufacturing processes including garment/bag planning, cutting, construction, sublimation, and printing
- Skills in financial planning, cost control, and resource management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead & Coordinate daily regular production planning and output to meet delivery targets and quality standards
- Drive cost-effective manufacturing by estimating costs, adjusting production schedules, and managing budgets
- Implement quality assurance systems and continuous improvement initiatives (SAHPRA, ISO)
- Collaborate with senior management to improve efficiency, processes, and company performance
- Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and workplace safety to ensure a compliant and productive environment
- Manage large teams (50+ employees), promoting high performance and accountability using standard HR/IR Processes.
- Foster a culture of skills development, training, succession planning, and staff motivation
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and maintain strong union, bargaining council and stakeholder relationships
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Proven production planning and production management skills
- Proven production staff management experience
- Understanding of quality control
- Team leadership in deadline driven environment
- 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 1-2 years at a managerial/team leadership level.
- Senior certificate or similar certificate (commensurate experience accepted on justification).
ADVANTAGEOUS CONSIDERATIONS
- Previous experience in the textile and or bag manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience at a senior management level.
- Previous experience in the textile and or bag manufacturing industries.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Diploma/Degree in Garment Construction, Clothing Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Textile/Polymers)
