Duties/Pligte

  • Verantwoordelik vir navorsings-kapasiteitsbou aktiwiteite soos aangebied deur die Afdeling Navorsingsontwikkeling en -Steun, onder andere:
    • Advertering van aktiwiteite en koördinering van die aanlyn aansoek platvorm;
    • Keuring en registrasie van aansoekers;
    • Koördinering en voorbereiding van werkswinkel lokale en/of webinaars en materiaal vir kapasiteitsbou geleenthede;
    • Reël van spyseniering en toesien na spyseniering tydens geleenthede;
    • Skakeling met sprekers, navorsers, nadoktorale genote, nagraadse studente en ondersteuningskantore met betrekking tot kapasiteitsbou aktiwiteite;
    • Byhou van webtuiste en opnames met betrekking tot kapasiteitsbou aktiwiteite;
    • Byhou van statistieke met betrekking tot kapasiteitsbou aktiwiteite.

  • Verantwoordelik vir navorsingsbefondsing, voor sowel as na die toekenning daarvan, onder andere:
    • Advisering van navorsers, nadoktorale genote en nagraadse studente met betrekking tot geskikte befondsingsgeleenthede;
    • Vaslegging en prosessering van befondsingsaansoeke en uitreik van befondsings uitkomsbriewe;
    • Voorbereiding van befondsingsdokumentasie vir evalueringskomitee beoordeling, of vir die Hoof: Navorsingskapasiteitsontwikkeling & Befondsing;
    • Opdatering van befondsingstatus en oplaai van dokumentasie op die navorsingsinligting bestuurstelsel;
    • Skakeling met hoofde, navorsers, nadoktorale genote en nagraadse studente met betrekking tot navrae en befondsingsaansoek dokumentasie;
    • Skakeling met ondersteuningskantore, bv. Finansies, Menslike Hulpbronne, Navorsingsetiek Kantore, Nagraadse Kantoor, Afdeling Navorsingsontwikkeling;
    • Byhou van webtuiste met betrekking tot befondsingsgeleenthede;
    • Byhou van statistieke met betrekking tot befondsingsaansoeke en -toekennings.

  • Responsible for research capacity building activities hosted by the Research Development and Support Division, including:
    • Advertising of events and coordinating the online application platform;
    • Screening and registration of applicants;
    • Coordinating, preparing workshop venues and/or webinars and material for capacity development events;
    • Arranging for and seeing to catering during events;
    • Liaising with speakers, researchers, postdoctoral fellows, postgraduate students and support offices regarding capacity development activities;
    • Upkeep of website and recordings related to capacity development activities;
    • Upkeep of statistics related to capacity development activities.

  • Responsible for research funding, pre- and post-award, including:
    • Advising researchers, postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students on suitable funding opportunities;
    • Capturing and processing funding applications and issuing outcome letters;
    • Preparing funding documentation for review committee evaluation, or for Head: Research Capacity Development & Funding;
    • Updating funding status and uploading documents onto the research information management system;
    • Liaising with heads, researchers, postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students regarding enquiries and funding application documentation;
    • Liaising with support offices, e.g. Finances, Human Resources, Research Ethics Offices, Postgraduate Office, Division for Research Development;
    • Upkeep of website related to funding opportunities;
    • Upkeep of statistics related to funding applications and awards.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
  • Graad 12 sertifikaat;
  • Toepaslike naskoolse kwalifikasie(s) en minstens drie jaar administratiewe ervaring;
  • Bedrewenheid in die MS Office-pakket;
  • Uitstekende mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede in sowel Engels as Afrikaans;
  • Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede met `n sterk ingesteldheid op doeltreffende kliëntediens;
  • Uitstekende organisatoriese en tydsbestuur vaardighede;
  • Noukeurige en akkurate werksvermoë;
  • Die vermoë om goed binne spanverband en onafhanklik te kan funksioneer;
  • Die vermoë om effektief onder druk te funksioneer asook om take te kan organiseer en prioritiseer.

  • Grade 12 certificate;
  • Relevant post-school qualification(s) and at least three years' administrative experience;
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to efficient customer service;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Meticulous and accurate work ability;
  • The ability to work well within a team as well as independently;
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure, as well as to organise and prioritise tasks.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
  • B-graad kwalifikasie;
  • Ervaring in administratiewe ondersteuning in `n hoër onderwys-omgewing;
  • Ervaring met die reël van werkswinkels, webinaars, opleidingsessies, of kongresse;
  • Ervaring in navorsingsbefondsings-administrasie.

  • B-degree qualification;
  • Experience in administrative support in a higher education environment;
  • Experience in organising workshops, webinars, training events, or conferences;
  • Experience in research funding administration.
