Job Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the food and beverage outlets to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, team performance, and adherence to quality, hygiene, and safety standards. This role includes supervising staff, managing service delivery, assisting in training, and maintaining operational standards in accordance with company policies and South African hospitality regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations of restaurants, bars, and/or banquet areas.
- Ensure smooth service delivery and address any guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Support the F&B Manager in staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards in accordance with HACCP and South African health regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and liaise with suppliers where necessary.
- Assist in implementing promotional strategies and upselling techniques to maximise revenue.
- Ensure cash handling and billing procedures are followed correctly.
- Conduct pre-service briefings and ensure staff are well-informed of menu updates and special events.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front office teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Monitor staff grooming, discipline, and adherence to company policies.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential; tertiary hospitality qualification preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role within a food & beverage environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy (POS systems, MS Office).
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
