Job Description
To safely and efficiently manage the receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of explosive materials within the magazines, ensuring compliance with regulatory & safety requirements
Required outputs: functional
- Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and manage warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of explosive materials.
- Maintain effective inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking and control of explosive materials
- Budget control for field magazines/ depot
- Quality management (on time, in full)
- Stock control and stock management
- Inventory Management & accuracy
- Infrastructure maintenance reporting
- People management and development
- Supervise and develop warehouse personnel to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and security
- Support continual business improvement and change management
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Adhere to legislative requirement
- Comply with Safety, Health, Environment and legislative requirement
Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- Diploma in Supply Chain
- At least 2 years’ experience in managing a depot/ field magazines within explosives
- A Magazine Master certificate will be an advantage
- Explosives background and regulatory requirements strongly preferred
- Exposure to Supply chain processes – stock management
- SAP knowledge
- Excellent understanding of the Safety & Health process
- Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to write reports
