Key Responsibilities
1. General Repairs and Maintenance
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks across the campus (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, basic mechanical repairs, etc.).
- Assist in diagnosing and fixing building faults, including minor structural issues.
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities to identify repair needs.
2. Support for Tenants and Campus Users
- Respond to maintenance-related service requests from resident startups and staff in a timely manner.
- Ensure minimal disruption to tenants during repairs or maintenance work.
3. Facilities Upkeep
- Support in maintaining shared spaces such as boardrooms, meeting rooms, restrooms, and common areas in excellent working condition.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and assist with scheduled building checks.
- Assist with furniture moves, office setups, and event setups as required.
4. Equipment and Tools
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and ensure proper storage.
- Report any equipment faults or safety concerns to the Property Manager.
5. Compliance and Safety
- Follow health and safety protocols when performing maintenance tasks.
- Alert the Property Manager to any hazards, safety breaches, or potential risks on campus.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Matric or equivalent.
- A technical certificate or relevant handyman/maintenance training is an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance or a similar role.
- Experience working in a commercial or multi-tenant environment is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: R5 000,00 - R6 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bryanston, Gauteng (City of Johannesburg): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Basic Electrical: 2 years (Required)
- Basic Plumbing: 2 years (Required)
- Office Maintenance: 2 years (Required)
