Senior Technician: General Maintenance - (uShaka Sea World’s Technical Department)
The Responsibilities will include:
· The successful applicant would be required to perform general maintenance (including mechanical and electrical maintenance) and assist with housekeeping duties in all Plantrooms at Sea World’s Aquarium, at uShaka Marine World.
· The applicant will also be required to do project related work, which could either be mechanical or electrical; or civil maintenance tasks, such as structural support maintenance, and erection and dismantling of scaffolding or structures.
· The incumbent will be required to become familiar with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Procedures (EPs) and participate in training and development.
Requirements for the position are:
· National trade test certificate as a Fitter or Millwright is essential.
· Grade 12 / N3 / NQF level 4, with all subjects completed (preferably in a technical or engineering field) is essential.
· Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a Technician in a process plant, or technical operations, or maintenance and engineering.
· National diploma in any engineering field (or equivalent tertiary qualification) will be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
· Water treatment plant experience will be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
· A good working knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act is essential.
· Advanced computer literacy skills in at least MS Word and MS Excel is essential.
· Code EB (08) light motor vehicle license is essential.
