We have created a collection of carefully curated hotels in highly desirable locations
in Cape Town, the Cape Winelands and in Hermanus.
Managing the day to day operation of the hotel. Specific responsibility for managing your shift and ensuring that communication flow is perfect between the shifts to guarantee a five-star guest experience.
Managing the on-site team to ensure that specific management functions are actioned.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Preparing and checking of arrivals and pre-arrivals; ensuring handover to reception
- Follow up on the booking system to ensure that all employees have all information on guests
- Ensure that payments are taken and processed
- Delivery great guest experiences
- Sell on Spa and Tour services
- Taking reservations enquiries directly, through agents and through the online systems. Communicating with all pre-arrival bookings to on-sell services in advance
- Keep correspondence and emails up to date
- Actively communicate with central reservations
- Creating and managing guest database (TA etc..)
- Proactively manage guest feedback and ensure that early solutions are found to unhappy / dissatisfied guests
- Manage breakfast service ensuring all guests are spoken to and happy.
- Adhere to F&B standards of sweets, afternoon cake, gin bar and wine service and ensure your team are trained on all F&B areas.
Administrative / Other Tasks:
- Preparing of daily banking as needed
- Managing of petty cash float
- Supporting the purchasing function
- Employee management and rostering
- Prepare for management meetings. Deliver presentation, chair meetings as needed on a rotation basis.
- Prepare management reports as required.
- Follow up on purchasing and maintenance issues.
- Assist preparing presentations
- Get quotes from suppliers, costing & price comparison
- Training new staff / cross training current staff
- Assist with health and safety matters including fire drills and other relevant emergency training as and when required.
- Participate in events and networking meetings
- Assist with other group hotels as required
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent telephone skills.
- Self-motivated with high energy level with a strong work ethic

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

- Strong organisation and planning skills

Education:
- Competency in all major software applications
- Comfortable with hotel booking systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R8 000,00 - R10 000,00 per month
