Law For All is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to performs a variety of human resources duties on a professional level, partnering closely with senior HR management and various managers across Law For All, in supporting HR processes and department-specific strategies. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence, leave and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
Collaborate with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
HR reporting (including yearly statutory reports).
Ensuring accuracy & completeness of employment contracts;
Preparing welcome letters;
Receive & monitor probation reports;
Compile permanent appointment letters;
Preparation of job descriptions and forwarding same to relevant managers;
Monitoring of terminations, ensuring that all correct documentation is completed & signed;
Assisting with employment history requests;
Preparing & sending off information required for salary changes, this includes new appointments, transfers, terminations, etc.
Drafting & completion of all UIF documentation in terms of maternity, unemployment & illness benefits; including the Drafting of certificate of service;
Bi-monthly self-audits on all employee files;
REQUIREMENTS:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related
✅ 2 years of experience in a similar HR role (essential).
✅ Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
✅ Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
✅ Excellent record-keeping skills.
✅ Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
✅ Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
✅ Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.
