BMS Cosmetics are looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Formulator/Chemist to join their in-office laboratory in Germiston, Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine formulations for Cosmetics, Skincare, and Hair Care products. Conduct research and experimentation to create innovative new products. Ensure all formulations meet industry regulations, safety, and quality standards.
Work independently in our lab to test, adjust, and perfect formulations. Document formulations, processes, and results with special attention to detail. Stay up to date with the latest trends, ingredients, and industry developments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science with a minimum of 3 years of related laboratory work experience.
- Experience in Cosmetic, Skincare, and/or Hair Care formulation is non-negotiable.
- Strong knowledge of ingredients, chemistry, and formulation processes.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a lab setting.
- Monitor performance of laboratory equipment and report issues to supervisor.
- Understanding of industry regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
- Own transport and ability to travel to Germiston.
