PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To support the daily operations of the assigned kitchen, ensuring food preparation, cleanliness, and sanitation meet health and safety standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/NQF level 4/STD10 is essential.
- National Certificate in Hospitality and Catering or Retail Services will be advantageous
- At least 1-3 years working experience in Catering or retail is essential
- Experience on retail system/Point of Sales system is advantageous
- Computer Literacy (MS Office Package - Outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint)
COMPETENCIES:
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)
- Time Management Skills
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Recipe and cooking knowledge
- Food safety standards knowledge
- Supervisory knowledge
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards of all responsible areas at all times.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Notify supervisor of any occurring defects or needs for repairs
- Participate in scheduled stock taking.
- Assist with inventory management and the ordering of supplies as needed.
- Adhere to dietary specifications and Mining Charter requirements.
- Establish compliance to Impalas prescribed menu and meal specifications
- Ensure food is prepared according to the HACCP food safety approach
- Utilise the point-of-sale system and ensure that it is operational.
- Ensure sales transactions are run in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
