In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously planning and coordinating maintenance activities to support our production operations. Your expertise will ensure that our facilities run smoothly, meeting the highest standards of safety and reliability.
The Maintenance Planner is a person experienced in maintenance who has the skills and knowledge to create a job package from the work order scope. The package contains all information about required labor material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. This includes total plant shutdown planning as well as daily planning activities.
This maintenance person that uses job plans to create a schedule that makes the most effective and efficient use of the available resources.

Minimum Requirements
- Matric with Trade Test (Mechanical Engineering / Electrical)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling in a heavy industry environment, preferably manufacturing.
- Experience in Planning Plant Shutdowns (Statutory or otherwise)
- Leading planning project is advantageous
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling profiency in the SAP system
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare job package and input plan into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
- Ensuring that all jobs are communicated to all artisans and technicians on a daily bases
- Opening and closing work orders effectively and timeously
- Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan.
- Identify materials / tools / equipment required to perform tasks.
- Identify / solicit safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
- Consider material costs when selecting materials from specifications.
- Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders if not complete.
- Carry out field check when needed and archive repetitive job plans. Identify resource requirements for the scheduled jobs using the job plans.
- Record tasks / information within the work order.
- Sets net capacity for the crafts based on information about the area turnaround schedule and the related available labor.
- Build the "week schedule" making the most effective and efficient use of available resource and issuing the schedule.
