New to MES?
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) are software systems that connect business planning systems (ERP) with the factory floor, enabling real-time monitoring and control of production. It works by tracking and documenting the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished goods, using live data from machines and operators.
Who is best suited to this role?
The ideal candidate for an MES consultant role is a natural problem-solver who acts as a bridge between people and technology. This person thrives on customer interaction, skilfully listening to and translating a client's unique manufacturing needs into a functional system configuration.
They possess a strong logical and analytical mindset, enjoying the challenge of solving puzzles within the existing software's framework. While they should genuinely enjoy the technical aspects of programming and database logic to effectively manipulate the system, their true passion lies in applying these tools to create practical solutions rather than in deep software development itself.
