Key Role:
The Resident Engineer reports to the Contracts Engineer and is required to manage the WSP Construction Management Services team for a contract period of 20 months. The Resident Engineer responsibility is to co-ordinate; monitor and control; and report on all construction and construction-related activities in order to achieve the project scope; budget; schedule; quality; environmental; and safety objectives for the Works in accordance with the project contract document, regulatory and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
General project civil and building services construction co-ordination and facilitation
- Interaction with design team and assisting with resolution of design queries
- To assist with the facilitation of wayleave approvals, service designs and co-ordination
- Leading site supervision team
- Contract administration
- Monitoring and reporting on programme
- Other tasks and/or services instructed by the Line Manager to assist in the successful completion of a project or assist in the efficient operation of the Business Unit.
- Quality plan assessment and auditing
- Site audits, inspections, quality control testing approval/rejection
- Measurement and certifying that work is correct
- Cash flow forecasting
- Managing site meetings and minutes
- Public liaison
- Management of site OHS, ISO and EMP’s
- Completion reports and as built reports
- Site quality control
- Maintain the WSP QA documentation for the project
- Cost reporting on a monthly basis, or as instructed.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- 15 plus - years’ relevant experience in Road construction, Bridge and Major Culvert construction as a Resident Engineer/ Assistant Resident Engineer
- Must be familiar with the GCC 2015 contract documentation.
- Experience on projects working for public sector clients, will be advantageous.
- PR Eng/ PR Tech registration is mandatory
Key Competencies and Generic Skills
- The Resident Engineer is to be thoroughly familiar with the Scope of Works details and objectives, Conditions of Contract, Project Specifications, AFC Specifications, AFC Drawings, design/engineering related studies and reports (eg. Geotechnical Reports, Land Survey Reports, etc.) Statutory requirements (eg. EMP, pertinent Safety Regulations, etc.), etc Passion for marketing and communications
- Practical, hands-on approach.
- Good communication skills, time management skills, ability to solve complex problems, good contractual knowledge and Contract Management/Administration.
- Experience working for a variety of Client bodies.
