To lead and execute advanced quality assurance activities across the production lifecycle of sheet metal components and railway systems. The Senior QA professional ensures compliance with international standards, drives root cause analysis, and mentors junior QA staff while supporting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Conduct and oversee inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and final products.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IRIS, EN 15085, and other relevant railway and fabrication standards.
- Validate welding processes, surface treatments, and dimensional tolerances.
Audit & Compliance:
- Lead internal audits and support external audits (customer, regulatory, certification bodies).
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure traceability and documentation of quality records.
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead investigations into non-conformances using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagrams.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and monitor effectiveness.
Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve product quality.
Mentorship & Training:
- Train and mentor junior QA staff and production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across departments.
Customer & Supplier Interface:
- Address customer complaints and quality concerns with professionalism and urgency.
- Evaluate and audit suppliers to ensure incoming material quality.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in sheet metal or railway manufacturing.
- Certification in ISO 9001, IRIS, or EN 15085 is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in quality software and ERP systems.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
