The core purpose of the job is:
- To define the business and technology strategies for the core IP/MPLS Mobile and ISP and DC networks, ensuring alignment at Department, Business Unit and Company level.
- To consult and advise Business Unit leadership on all core, IP/MPLS and DC technological investments, architectures and capabilities.
- To provide technical input into business cases, board papers and budgets.
- To effectively plan, in terms of cost and quality, IP/MPLS and switching network infrastructure and solutions according to the needs of the MTN Mobile and Enterprise Business Units in the short, medium and long term
- To optimize the use of existing and planned capacity, manage quality and security and proactively monitor all aspects of the core IP/MPLS and DC networks
- To seek better solutions through research and network modelling and trial, in aid of selecting the most appropriate IP/MPLS and DC technologies and vendors
