Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of the employees in compliance to regulations
- Provide and maintain systems of work, plant, and machinery that are safe and without risk for employees to achieve production targets
- Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health, safety, and risk management standards and best practices
- Submit inputs to the Smelter’s business plan
- Ensure the correct resources are available to deliver on targets
- Manage the production process safely, efficiently and cost-effectively to meet targets
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive and be accountable for continuous improvement and asset optimization initiatives
- Manage the people in the team i.e. career development, competence improvement, performance management
- Implement identified asset optimization and technical initiative projects.
- Support the overall management of the Operation
This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to Section Engineering Manager
Qualifications
- 3 year Tertiary qualification in Logistics/ Materials Management
Experience
- At least 3 years Supply Chain Experience in Mining/Process Industry
- Planning, Scheduling and materials management experience
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Logistics Knowledge

- Basic business and commercial knowledge
