Chief Audiologist (Cape Town)
We are a well-established Audiology Group located in the European Union seeking an innovative Chief Audiologist to lead our in-person Audiology Clinical practices based in Cape Town. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage our Cape Town clinics (advice, consultation, fittings and after-sales) including online diagnostics, sales, and support for rural and urban clients.
- Sales Leadership: Drive multi-channel sales, clinic walk-ins and e-commerce.
- Tech Integration: Utilising our fast-developing multi-channel marketing and mobile platforms to reach more customers.
- Launch Execution: This key position requires a high degree of autonomy. Reporting to our European-based Managing Director you will work closely with our world-class team to deliver a fast, attractive and competitive solution to reach more people with hearing loss.
- General Management: Full profit centre responsibility.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years’ Audiology experience.
- HPCSA-registered (valid and current certification).
- Proven skills in hearing aid advice, consultation, fittings and after-sales care.
- Strong sales track record.
- Familiarity with e-commerce or digital marketing.
- Tech-savvy, entrepreneurial, thrives with challenges, ready to lead this venture.
Profit sharing agreement, final interview and training held at our Company EU Clinics.
1. Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Audiology:
Desirable: Master’s Degree in Audiology
2. Professional Registration
HPCSA Registration:
Verification: Candidate must provide HPCSA number and proof of good standing.
Desirable: Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser status (recognized by HPCSA or industry bodies).
3. Experience Requirements
Minimum Experience: 7+ years in clinical audiology.
Clinical Expertise: Proven track record in diagnostic audiology, hearing aid fitting, and patient counselling across diverse groups (adults, elderly, pediatric).
Sales Experience: Demonstrated ability to sell hearing aids.
Leadership: At least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Private practice experience.
4. Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in audiometric testing, fitting and programming modern hearing aids.
Sales and Business Acumen: Ability to drive multi-channel sales. Full understanding of clinic operations.
Leadership and Innovation: Proven ability to lead a team. Entrepreneurial mindset.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication for patient counseling and virtual engagement. Adaptability to pivot between in-person and digital environments.
5. Legal and Practical Requirements
South African Citizenship or Work Permit: Must be legally eligible to work as an Audiologist in South Africa.
Professional Development: Proof of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points, as required by HPCSA (30 points every 2 years). Membership in the South African Association of Audiologists (SAAA) is a plus.
Valid driver’s license. Clean professional record.
