PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The HR Generalist will be responsible for all daily HR operations and assist the management team in implementing, managing, directing and coordinating the HR function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Partner: Forming and maintaining critical key relationships in the business to define and implement relevant and appropriate HR initiatives.
- Talent Management: Assist and ensure the implementation of the Employment Equity plan by ensuring key talent is identified and recruited for.
- Organisational Development: Assist and collaborate with the Pepkor OD Practitioners in order to meet the objectives of the management team.
- Reporting and Compliance: Assist the Head of HR with reporting and analytics and to ensure legal compliance within the business with regards to statutory reporting and compliance.
- Policies and Procedures: Formulate, recommend and communicate HR policies, procedures, legislative requirements and objectives for the company with regards to employee relations.
- Industrial Relations: Manage and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Training and Development: Ensuring the development of sufficient skills within the organisation in order to meet the strategic objectives of the business and in line with the skills development plan submitted to the SETA.
- Recruitment and On-boarding: Assisting the management team with any recruitment requirements and on-boarding of new hires.
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant HRM degree or equivalent
- 3 to 5 Years HR Generalist experience in the full HR value chain
- Previous experience within the banking industry will be advantageous
- Experience with developing and implementing EE Plans as well as the submission thereof
- Understanding of B-BBEE framework and submission requirements
- Broad-based general knowledge of HR, relevant legislation, and HR best practice
- Proficient with G-Suite and/or Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
