Matric certificate/ equivalent

Rock Drill Operator Competency Certificate

Competent B Certificate is a pre-requisite and Competent A is advantageous

Medically fit

Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

High knowledge of the usage of hydropower (aqua jet)

Experience in inclined and horizontal development end

At least 3 years’ experience in Conventional and trackless development

Understanding and application of Health and Safety principles

Knowledge of how to operate and inspect a handheld machine

Good knowledge and Experience of trackless, conventional and Development operations

SHE Compliance and participating in the early entry examination

Ability to work independently, collaborator and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safe and effective handling of all tools and equipment

Responsible for good housekeeping in area of responsibility

De-sludge/ Clean out holes on completion of drilling

Pre-check list adherence and mid-shift risk assessment

Reporting of breakdowns to the supervisor and engineering team

Barring of hanging wall, sidewall, and face

Application of section 22 and 23 of MHSA
