Agrinet, a wholesale supplier and distributor of a wide range of products that cater to hardware retail, specialist industrial and irrigation markets in Africa is seeking the services of a Procurement Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and optimising supply chain and procurement processes, particularly within the wholesale environment, by leveraging data insights, technology tools, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the organisation.
Data Analysis and Process Optimisation
- Analyse procurement and warehousing data to identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Recommend and implement approved strategies to improve procurement cycle times, inventory accuracy, and overall warehouse productivity.
- Develop data models and dashboards that support decision-making and operational planning.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring procurement issues and present findings with proposed corrective actions.
Procurement Operations and Inventory Management
- Evaluate and monitor inventory performance, including slow-moving and excess stock, and support liquidation or reallocation strategies.
- Track and manage product lifecycle data, ensuring obsolete items are phased out efficiently and removed from systems.
- Collaborate with buyers and product managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date vendor and product information in procurement systems.
- Analyse demand trends and suggest adjustments to ordering patterns to prevent
- stockouts or overstocking.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Define, measure, and track key procurement and warehousing KPIs such as order cycle time, inventory turnover, and vendor delivery performance.
- Prepare regular reports and visual presentations for senior leadership highlighting procurement effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain automated reporting tools for continuous visibility into supply chain health.
- Drive data governance by ensuring data quality and consistency across procurement systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (procurement, warehouse, finance, planning) to align procurement processes with operational needs.
- Collaborate with external vendors to ensure alignment on data accuracy, lead times, and service level expectations.
- Serve as the liaison between supply chain teams and IT or systems support during technology implementations.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to support organisational goals related to procurement transformation and systems upgrades.
Technology, Tools, and Special Projects
- Research, evaluate, and propose new technologies and tools (e.g., inventory planning software, data visualisation tools) to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Support the rollout and adoption of ERP enhancements or planning tools (e.g., Slimstock).
- Lead or participate in special projects such as new system implementations, digital transformation initiatives, or process redesign efforts.
- Stay current with best practices and trends in procurement analytics and warehousing optimisation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Requirements (South Africa): Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Procurement, Analytics, or Supply Chain Operations, with strong analytical and reporting experience. Understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor relationships. Knowledge of processes such as inventory control, forecasting, and tracking to ensure the availability of parts. Advanced Excel skills.
