Job Summary:
The production manager will oversee the daily operations of the resin plant, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing management, particularly within the chemical or polymer industry. This role requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of operators and technicians, as well as the ability to analyze data and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of resin plant operations, including raw material procurement, production scheduling, and shipping logistics.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Manage and motivate a team of operators and technicians, providing training and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and safety compliance.
• Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of machinery.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to understand customer requirements and adjust production accordingly to meet demand.
• Maintain accurate records of production outputs, inventory levels, and expenses to track performance against budgets and identify areas for cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines throughout all stages of production.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in manufacturing management within the chemical or polymer industry.
• Strong knowledge of resin formulation principles and manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in analyzing data and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to production processes.
• Experience managing budgets and meeting financial targets.
