Requirements

  • A trade certificate in Earthmoving/Diesel Artisan
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ post-trade test as
earthmoving/diesel artisan

  • A trade certificate in Earthmoving/Diesel Artisan (advantageous)
  • Supervisory experience in a fleet environment, repairs, and
maintenance workshop

  • Computer literate (SAP/MS Office)
  • A valid Code C1 driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas

  • Coordinating tasks/activities associated with the implementation of
fleet mechanical repairs, maintenance schedules and procedures,

ensuring that optimum operational efficiencies are attained at all

times

  • Planning, prioritising and scheduling vehicle and plant maintenance
work

  • Communicating with the maintenance planner and establishing
technical details and requirements for specific repair and

maintenance tasks scheduled

  • Monitoring attendance, conduct and work output and addressing
deviations from agreed upon performance indicators

  • Involved in the continuous performance appraisal of staff and
identifying improvement areas

  • Performing specific administrative tasks/ activities associated with
the updating and maintaining records related to the maintenance

workshop

  • Maintaining applicable safety standards and records
  • Ensuring vehicle/plant compliance to the Road Traffic Act where
applicable.

WORK OUTSIDE NORMAL WORKING HOURS, DURING EMERGENCIES

AND PLANNED OVERTIME, BE ON STANDBY, WORK IN ALL WEATHER

CONDITIONS, ENTER CONFINED SPACES, AND WORK AT HEIGHTS.
