Job Summary
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading company in the telecommunications sector, for the position of Field Rigger. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom equipment on towers and high sites. This role involves working at heights, following strict safety standards, and supporting on-site technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Climb towers and ladders safely to complete assigned tasks under supervision
- Erect telecommunication tower components using rigging tools and equipment (cables, ropes, pulleys, etc.)
- Install antennas, microwave dishes, cables, pinwheels, conduit, steelwork, antenna mounts, and related telecom equipment
- Remove, install, and repair aerial transmission lines and associated hardware
- Work with various cable types including fiber optic, coaxial, and DC power
- Perform routine audits, upgrades, maintenance, and emergency repairs
- Follow detailed work orders and technical plans accurately
- Support the team leader and assist in daily operational duties
- Apply health and safety regulations at all times
- Operate winches and capstans to move heavy loads
- Maintain quality compliance as per industry and client standards
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the team leader
Basic Requirements
- Completion of the client’s tower safety training (or willingness to complete it)
- Availability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends if needed
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in high-pressure and outdoor environments
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Understanding of networking principles, power systems, and cable testing
- Experience in telecommunication construction and rigging
Qualifications
- 1–4 years of relevant telecom/rigger experience
- Certification in Working at Heights or Fall Arrest (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

Pay: R23 500,00 - R24 500,00 per month
