Job Title: Finance Administrator (Temp role with the opportunity of becoming permanent)
Job Purpose:
The Finance Administrator is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure effective, accurate, and timely financial operations in compliance with South African financial regulations. The role supports the finance team in managing accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and petty cash reimbursements.
- Prepare payment batches for EFT processing via online banking platforms.
- Assist with processing of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Capture and reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items.
- Prepare journals for review and posting to the general ledger.
- Support monthly management reporting and assist with preparation of financial statements.
- Maintain a proper filing system for all financial documents (physical and/or electronic).
- Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary supporting documentation.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Finance.
- Work on various retail portals (corporates)
Minimum Requirements:Education:
- Matric (Grade 12) with Accounting and Maths essential
- National Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (advantageous)
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar finance/administrative role
- Experience working with South African financial systems, tax, and statutory compliance
- Familiarity with Pastel, Sage 300, Xero, or similar accounting packages
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
