Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role in the food and beverage industry
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, flavours, and food safety standards
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other relevant technology (Micros & Opera)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dining setting
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
• Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting overall business objectives

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises the organizing of schedules for all restaurant management team
  members
• Assist with marketing ideas, advertising material requirement, posts or design.
• Collaborate in planning for events, conferences, dinners and special occasions.
• Collaborate with the Cost controller on Beverage costings and pricing, frequently checking that all menu items are priced according to set COS target.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of food and beverage activities.
• Support the management and development of the restaurant team both front and back of house (in collaboration with the head chef).
• Contribute to menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers, assist in negotiating prices, and manage procurement of ingredients and supplies for the bar.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels, minimizing waste, and optimizing stock control
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary dining environment
• Participate in analysing sales and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Support the development and execution of marketing initiatives to promote food and beverage offerings
• Assist in administrative tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, conference & events quoting, debtors (payments follow ups)
• Stay informed about industry trends, and what is happening in and around Johannesburg / Sandton.
