Key responsibilities:

•Planning and coordinating the digitisation of materials stored or transferred to the CRO

•Assessing, evaluating and prioritising materials for digitisation

•Capturing and importing digitised materials into document management systems

•Quality control the digitisation material captured on the system

•Digital preservation of digitised and born digital materials in the CRO

•Developing and documenting procedures and best practices for digitisation

•Document business processes for clients within CRO and advise on the development and configuring document management systems

•Assist the CRO Manager to manage the document management systems projects within CRO

•Coordinate the implementation of SharePoint site within CRO

•Train staff in digitisation and any other related software when required

•Assist the CRO Manager with supervision of staff responsible for digitisation on the system


Requirements:

•BSc Computer Science, or a B.Com Information Systems, or a B. Information Management/ Information Science degree (NQF level 7) or a Diploma in Information Technology, preferably B. Tech Information Technology (NQF level 7).

•At least three to five years post qualification experience, preferably in a Higher Education Environment.

•Applicants must have practical trackable experience in electronic content/ document management systems.

•Applicants must have business analysis and system analysis experience

•Applicants must have good computer literacy e.g. Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams

•Applicants must have advanced excel skills such as VLOOKUP, index match, Pivot tables and reporting and VBA and Macros.


Preferences:

•BSc Computer Science, or a B.Com. Information Systems, or a B. Information Management/ Information Science degree (NQF level 7).

•A minimum of 3 years proven experience in digital asset management/enterprise content management systems/ document management /information management systems, preferably, in a higher education environment.

•Knowledge of best practices for imaging, analog to digital media conversion, metadata skills; ability to manage and maintain a digital collections repository

•Practical document management experience including capture, indexing and quality control of documents

•Experience with digital asset management systems, preferably Hyland OnBase ECM and SharePoint

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

•Problem solving skills

•People management and empowerment

•Analytical and critical thinking

•Pay attention to detail, maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

•Demonstrated ability to priorities tasks

•Good report writing and presentation skills

•Project Management Skills
